Taking out half the population doesn't make as much sense as it sounds on its face. There are still huge expanses of Earth that are barely explored and habitable. We throw away and waste huge quantities of resources that could feed and equip billions more. Not mentioning all of the rest of the galaxy we haven't touched. So I don't really believe that overpopulation is the threat that Thanos believes it is.
Killmonger is the most principaled villan I have ever seen. In fact I think he was right and was rooting for him to win. Revenge for his father, recapturing his birthright/name and trying to elevate/protect his race. All those are nobel goals..

1) your feelings don’t really play a part. There literally isn’t enough resources for the entire world right now to enjoy the same things we have. It’s a concern how the strain will be weathered as China and India attempt to transition to consumer economies.
But that aside:
2) it isn’t a complex thought. Everything you describe only postpones the collapse. Finite resources are finite. And maybe that’s the point: to kick civilizations down every so often to give an opportunity for technology to make economies more efficient

Killmonger was a forgettable villain with no redeeming qualities. No sense of humor, no noble purpose, nothing interesting. Ok, so he wanted to reclaim his birthright. Which he did. His next step was to simply destroy everything around him He had an unending, childlike rage.

Of course it’s not, too bad a comic book villain isn’t the only 1 that thinks it is.
