If you handed me 10,000 in cash and the person tells you its yours, you earned it, and then came back the next day and said "Sorry, I gave it to the wrong person" do you still get that back?

Well I think the difference would be A) it wasn’t a mistake. He gifted it to you. B) Handing someone cash is a lot less traceable and harder to prove unless you ran to the bank and deposited it.
