I understand as a fan base we have to be very optimistic when it comes to our QB play. Yes, Burrow was a high caliber QB coming out of high school and yes I have seen his highlights.

His career stats are 29-37 287 yd. and 2 TD in 10 games. Many people are saying he's the starter after watching 1 minute long videos during practice. We have talented QB's on our roster with just about the same experience, so what makes him the starter over them?

I just don't see where all of the hype is coming from

I don't think it's our job to have to keep reminding everyone why it's ok to be excited about this young man.

Well, our QBs looked bad in the Spring Game for one.

Secondly, this guy was thought by many OSU fans to be the best QB on their roster and deserving of a starting spot.

Third, he's been coached up by Urban Meyer for years and has graduated college already in 3 years, hinting at maturity.

Fourth, he's physically impressive.

Fifth, he comes from a football family pedigree.

Sixth, LSU players have already come out and said he's a great leader and his work ethic is very impressive.

I'm not saying its not ok. Just help me understand where you see the excitement opposed to Narcisse/McMillan/Brennan

78% completion percentage and no ints probably isn't the best supporting evidence for your argument.

Completion percentage. This is where L.S.U. Qb’s have struggled.

If you watch his ping game at Ohio and the past spring game for our guys, you should see all you need to see. The hype may be more reflective of the offense he was running at Ohio, and if the LSU offense moves toward that type of play calling, then he is the best man for the job. He is "hyped" because he showed a better command of the offense in his spring game, not to mention the accolades from the fan base, coaches and his performance in real games.

How about you telling us how good our talented other QBs are? From what we have seen of them, sure the potential is there, but where's the product? None distinguished themselves in Spring. In game last year (admittedly limited reps), nothing to write home about. Not saying they can't eventually be developed into something special. Just saying so far, not so much showing.

From the crow's nest, Burrow appears to be a cut above in terms of maturity, leadership, and with a good skill set. Maybe he won't be, but you tell us, of the other three, which will be "the one" to take over and win?

Completing passes up 52 in the fourth quarter vs. Bowling Green and up 40 vs. Indiana doesn’t exactly scream QB savior. Doing well in a glorified spring game scrimmage when the defense isn’t allowed to blitz the quarterback doesn’t either. He’s just asking where the hype comes from. It’s mostly wishful thinking.

He was highly recruited. So were Narcisse and Brennan. He throws a decent ball vs air. So did Etling. He comes from a football background. So do a ton of college qb’s. Hopefully he is incredible. But there is nothing concrete to definitely suggest he will be

Big, athletic kid that’s a coaches son. He’s been tutored by Urban Meyer for 3 years. He’s been apart of a winning program/culture and he’s extremly accurate.

Bruh if that doesn’t get the blood flowing a little bit idk what to tell you.
