Multiple people in this thread are acting like doctors are clueless on this.

EVERY board certified IMED and CV physician who trained in the last decade is fully aware of LDL-profiles, coronary calcium scores, etc. These tests do have some functional utility in the right patient populations. The problem is they generally aren't covered by insurances or Medicare and are cost prohibitive to most patient demographics.

The tests aren't perfect end all be all studi e however. Coronary calcium scoring didn't tell us who has the unstable plaques that are the most common cause of sudden cardiac death for instance.

So the problem in actually adopting the correct science is Medicare won't pay for it? I don't deny practical limits, but that doesn't mean you should still keep spouting nonsense.
