funny shite eh? the claims he made earlier feels like the twilight zone with this clown. It was all debunked and explained in a previous crybaby tariff thread he started. He ignores it all and starts all over again.
he is worse than some of our resident libtards and quickly challenging FT and tug job gayturd.

quote:and this is the lib psychosis i frequently mention. they want you to get lost in the trees so that you miss the forest. china's market is clearly on an eye opening downward trajectory. trump's strategy has already worked with the eu which puts pressure on china and relieves pressure on the us.
That pipeline infrastructure is what enables their purchases to be so high and is proof of the HUGE possibilities of the aforementioned pipeline from Alaska to China Roger talked about.
you keep segmenting the economy saying tariffs are going to hurt this sector and that sector. trump is looking at the entire country. of course there's going to be pain in a war, BUT THERE'S ALREADY PAIN. the us economy is already suffering because of absentee trade strategies. in the meantime, our currently policies seem to be quite successful and reason for significant optimism. well, among normal people.

quote:yeah, and your solution was to just let everyone else do what they want. isn't that pretty much what we've been doing which caused this mess in the first place?
My stance is that tariffs are bad.

This is why we are where we are. HAve you paid any fricking attention to all your past crybaby tariff threads? Where we addressed the job losses and trade deficits?
We have not lost any jobs since we started trading with China. The number of jobs in America are FAR FAR greater today than in 1974 and the per capita income is much greater.
Have not read the numbers at BLS?
Trade deficits are not bad. We have them with most every country.

right genius and allow dumping whilst they do not allow it. holy shite you are a economic moron
You post nothing of substance or to make your point and call me an economic moron?? Give me a break.
Explain the economies of Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore with virtually zero tariffs and phenomenal per capita income? How does that happen???

nah no way! we never lost any jobs due to china and we have no deficit and dumping would be just fine.........even if we could not dump on others...it would never hurt businesses.....oh wait

Describe the mess please.
There are 11 million more jobs in the US than in 2008. Almost 90 million more than in 1990.
Average wages have more than doubled since 1990 in real dollars.
Did you just hear some union guy whine? or did Hannity tell you that?

So, you are campaigning on the status quo, let foreign countries impose tariffs on US goods as they will, and then bring up countries with little to no tariffs on their goods as a comparison? And do you also not see the obscene irony here? The end goal to Trump's tariffs are no tariffs. So i don't understand how you can bring up Switzerland/Singapore and not look like a hypocrite.

And there are no differences from the 90's today right? So you are coming in here campaigning for the US to keep taking it via tariffs? Why does the US have to just outcompete the world when the odds are stacked against us? Can't we outcompete on a level playing field? It's akin to someone who has made a million and says, "ok, that's enough, i'll start overpaying for goods/services because i've made enough money now". I truly hope you are lying about being a business owner.

It sure is weird seeing the side that constantly screems ‘traitor’ at everyone rooting for a communist enemy country to beat its own.

We have not lost any net jobs since we started trading with China in 1974. That is simply fact.
We have a trade deficit and this is ok with me. The only time in modern history we have had a sustained trade surplus was during the Great Depression. I do not wish a return to those times.
Dumping? what is that? is that like China selling aluminum on the market at depressed prices because their state owned industries are subsidized? Is that like why Canada put a huge tariff on dairy products from the US because we were dumping subsidized milk into Canada? I like when people sell us stuff cheaper than we can make it. That gives us money capital to do other things and grow our economy.

Let's all hope so. The chicken tariff remains.
Let's all remember Trump said the goal was the end of all tariffs and subsidies.
Somebody wake me up when he goes to Iowa and says he is ending the crop insurance subsidy program and stopping the ethanol mandate.
I am afraid we have started a war we do not have balls to finish and it is causing real pain to real people and the loss of real opportunities.

The only way the US "overpays" for something is by imposing import tariffs. If anything, we are getting a discount from China because they are subsidizing the shite out of their industries. You aren't making any sense bro

quote:so you don't acknowledge that we have been at a competitive disadvantage in regards to trade? trump has been making all this up
They are hurting themselves to tariff our goods and always have been
quote:not before trump got into office and started reversing our policies
We are growing as an economy despite their tariffs.
quote:oh my. so you're not worried about a foreign country owning majority shares in american interests across the board? you might want to rethink your life
the Japanese were buying up US property and companies. I never understood it.
quote:time for you to get creative
My company--that I own--will be paying over $2 million in tariffs as proposed right now
quote:or just stay lazy. whatever, it's your business that "you own"
I will do everything I can to pass them on
quote:which is literally the opposite of what's been happening as has been pointed out to you repeatedly in this thread
Since you will be paying more for goods you buy you will have less to spend on higher value goods and it will damper the economy.

Hyperbole with no basis in fact.
Why do you attack me if you want free trade??? I am the biggest free trade guy on this forum.
What you really want is some weird "level playing field" that can never be defined. You don't want free trade. You rant about the tariffs being temporary as if that is good then you rant about needing tariffs to because we taking it in the shorts.
If tomorrow all tariffs were eliminated we would still have a trade deficit.
Ending the trade deficit is not a goal I am concerned with. It is not a problem.
