This might be because we're on an SEC-centric board, but Traverse City and basically that whole area from Manistee to Mackinac is well known in the Midwest for how great a destination it is. Definitely not underrated in my part of the country, and there are few places in America better than that stretch of northern Michigan during the summer.

For underrated cities that I've seen mentioned in this thread, Grand Rapids has really become a solid town in the last couple of decades.
