He just got waxed in the ring by this Alvarez guy . That was some of the most vicious knockdowns I’ve seen in a while

Knockdown 1

Knockdown 2

Knockdown 3

He had a good run but he's finished as an elite fighter.

Can’t believe he got up after the 2nd knockdown. He looked like he was out on the way down.

Ward never beat him the 1st time. That was a robbery if I ever saw one.

Pretty big. Alvarez has a few nice wins on his record but they came against guys past their prime. I thought he was a tomatoe can to be honest.

Damn, I watched the 1st round but decided to Dvr it and watch the fight later. He had a good run, I guess.

Was Kovalev winning up to this round or did the other guy have his way with him throughout the fight.

Kovalev clearly won the first fight. And was winning the 2nd fight until Ward landed some big body shots and low blows.

It was over in after 2nd fight with ward.

He was already showing age before that and had his invincibility taken from him.

I like him alot. Just father time is undefeated

He was ahead on all 3 judge's scoring cards by 58-56----59-55-----and 59-55.

Also ahead on Harold Lederman's card with about the same score. He just got caught with a good punch and couldn't recover with too much time left in the round and not being smart enough to tie up his opponent or get on his bicycle to avoid more damage.

A clean temple shot will drop any fighter. Similar to liver punches, except you'll never get up from those.

I think so, especially at a high level with top notch opponents. He's now got 3 losses in his last 5 fights, with 2 by KO and one by decision------that many don't agree with, but it is what it is.

He's 35 now and has had 36 pro bouts and it looks like he's getting a bit "chinny" after years of taking shots in the ring.

I'm not sure what kind of money he's pulled in purses over the years, but I'd assume if he was smart with what he's made, he could live a pretty comfortable life out of the ring.

ETA: A quick check on the net shows several sites claiming his net worth is in the 5 million pound range, so that equates to about $7.3 million US . He could live his life off that easily unless he went stupid like Holyfield and bought a McMansion and fathered a herd of kids out of wedlock and is hooked for lots of child support.

Not that vicious
Clearly kovalev’s mentality is gone
He was done after his rematch

This was career suicide
