It's ridiculous to think that despite having Glavine, Maddux, and Smoltz (three HoF pitchers) in the bullpen, the Braves managed only one World Series title during their run in the 90s. And that's not counting players like Gant, Lopez, Blauser, McGriff, Justice, etc.

It’s actually not ridiculous when you consider how hard it is to win a World Series. And I don’t think you know what bullpen means.

No doubt, and I think they made the final 5 times. Luckily they got that one or they're the Buffalo Bills of baseball.

Use to love watching those 90's Brave teams, Maddux was money...

Smoltz wasn’t in the bullpen when the team had Glavine and Maddux

Tony Gywnn batted .394 with 5 Hrs and only 3 strike outs, in over 250 plate appearances against the Big 3 Brave pitchers.

30 for 65 vs Smoltz
39 for 91 vs Maddux
29 for 93 vs Glavine

Always missing that power bat. Front office thought they could draft one, but A. Jones wouldn't take the next step. Rumor was Bonds almost came to Atl. I can't remember why it didn't happen.

I said it a million times. Everyone in Atlanta talks about how great they were during that period winning all those division championships

To me, it was one of the biggest under achieving things ever
