Yeah, I'm a little skeptical.

Another beautiful morning to work and no one showed up. Supposed to start raining this afternoon and have a chance the next few days.

As you can see they bought that grader in and really smoothed and bowled it out. I like that.

Here you can see, it looks like they are going to leave the floor of the old pond in place. It has a little hole on the end and an old stump cluster closer to the levee I assumed they would rip out. I'm kind of glad they didn't as I think this feature will be it's own anomaly in the new pond and be a fish attractant.

Here is where I get skeptical. The run around built at the far end near my truck drops the level of the pond much farther than I was expecting. Just by eyeballing it, it does not get up to the trees on the point. By walking into the turn of the levee at the deepest part of the pond I'm just under eye level of that run around. Thus, it seems to me it will be no deeper than 7' at it's deepest point. I would prefer that far end of the levee be turned and hooked back into the hill exactly where my truck is parked. It's an easy fix though. If it's not done, that is something I can do with the tractor and front end loader.

Here is where I get really skeptical.

This thing isn't going to hold water with a sandy top soil levee. I assumed they were going to coat it in clay. It's packed down hard. The smoothing and clean up of the sides makes me think that they are thinking this is finished. Also, I would have removed the 3 trees to the right of the equipment and removed that hill to increase the size of the pond. That is a hell of a levee for what is resulting in a much smaller pond than I expected. Surely they are not done as we still have 2 days of operating time left in the budget.
