All I hear is LSU has the toughest schedule this year. Smells like bunch of excuses in order to protect the coach and buy him another year.

2017 Cupcakes

Chattanooga
Troy

2018 Cupcakes

Southeastern LA
LA Tech
Rice

BYU was a cupcake too.

Dude you can’t count Troy as a cupcake if they whipped our arse.

Everyone is saying our schedule is tough because of Miami, Georgia and the usual Bama, Auburn, Florida games.

No excuses. I love this years schedule. It’s exciting. If we had a crap schedule and ran the table everyone would be saying we’re soft bc we didn’t play anyone like they say about BAMA every year despite the fact that they smashed their team.

We switch BYU with Miami, Tennessee with UGA, go to Auburn which is always tough sledding. Two teams have upgraded at coach (A&M and UF). It's a tough schedule.

That said, we've had tough schedules in the past. Orgeron doesn't get a pass for 8 or fewer wins this season. If he's an exceptional coach then he'll provide exceptional results in the face of adversity.

if that's the case...i would like to add 2018 Ole Miss team to cupcake game. They are crap and maybe worse than Vandy this year.

Saban himself is against the “cupcakes”.........yet they get TN and Mizzou, ULL, Arkie St, the Citadel, and Louisville LOL

That’s 6 auto wins not counting Ole Miss, MSST, and Aggie.......

Only LSU and Auburn will even give them a game. That’s sad

Tech is not a cupcake. And Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, a resurgent Miami, and a Dan Mullen-led Florida in the swamp are freaking brutal.

A team with a coach other than Ogreon would consider Troy a cupcake

To be fair, BYU wasn’t scheduled as a “cupcake game.” I wouldn’t say they were even seen as a juggernaut going into the game, but I believe they had a 10 win season the year we scheduled them.

I mean, in a year where R-Kansas or ole miss or moo state or Kentucky or Vandy aren’t great, they’re not written off as cupcake games. Same should apply to BYU. Had Miami turned into a shite show going into 2018, I wouldn’t have called them a cupcake either.

We play both NCG participants and open with at least a top-15 opponent at neutral site.

yes they are.

I'd wager LSU is paying La Tech half a million to play that game.

IF (not saying it happens) O loses that game he should be fired on the spot, or stuffed in a cannon and shot out the stadium into the river.

LSU plays 3 of those 5 teams annually, and all I've read on this board is how miami is overrated, Richt is a terrible OC, the ACC sucks, and LSU will win by 2 scores.

so is Miami good, or not good??

but what about the vaunted Les Miles 10 win seasons?

2015, giving a W for the cancelled McNeese game (a cupcake) our OOC schedule included:
W Ky
Syracuse
E Michigan
McNeese

but by damn Miles gets credit here for a 10 win season.

Oh, and we gave Fat Bert his first SEC win that year.
