i better get my affairs in order!
quote:
alaska51 is one of your Password and I will cut to the chase. You don't know me whereas I know alot about you and you are probably thinking why you're getting this mail, correct?
I placed malware on porn vids (pornography) & do you know what, you visited same porn web site to have pleasure (if you know what I mean). And while you were busy enjoying those videos, your device started operating as a RDP (Remote Computer) having a keylogger which allowed me accessibility to your screen and your webcam access. Just after that, the software gathered your entire contacts from your messenger, facebook, and e-mail.
What I want?
It is just your bad luck that I noticed your misdemeanor. After that I gave in more time than I probably should've digging into your life and made a split screen videotape. 1st half shows the recording you had been viewing and second part shows the capture from your web cam (it is someone doing naughty things). Actually, I want to delete about you and allow you to continue with your life. And I am going to provide you two options that will accomplish your freedom. Those two options are either to turn a blind eye to this e mail (bad for you and your family), or pay me 0.15 BTC.
What can you do?
Let us understand above two options in more depth. First Alternative is to ignore my email message. You should know what is going to happen if you pick this option. I definitely will send out your video to your contacts including members of your family, colleagues, and so forth. It will not shield you from the humiliation your family will face when friends learn your unpleasant videotape. Option 2 is to make the payment of 0.15 BTC. We will call this my “keep the secret charges”. Now Lets see what happens if you choose this option. Your secret remains private. I'll delete the recording. After you send the payment, I will let you keep your routine life and family as though none of this ever occurred. You'll make the payment through Bitcoins
Amount to be sent: 0.15 BTC
My BTC Address: [removed]
Notice: You now have one day in order to make the payment. (I've a special pixel within this mail, and now I know that you have read this mail). If I do not receive the Bitcoin, I will send your video recording to all of your contacts including family members, co-workers, and many others. nevertheless, if I receive the payment, I'll destroy the video immediately. If you really want proof, reply with "yes!" and I will certainly send out your video to your 8 contacts. It is a non-negotiable offer, so don't waste my time & yours by replying to this e-mail.

you think that's actually a password i've used?
he/she would have been better off leaving the email threat more generic.

I got the same e-mail yesterday.
I have to admit, since switching over to a Pixel 2 XL (Project Fi network), I've gotten a lot more spam calls and e-mails like this.

99.99% of these that we have seen, are admittedly used passwords of the users
For the toilet reading

I got a very similar one the other day.
Jokes on him, most of my family, colleagues, contacts have already seen me in action.

To be fair, he's referring to a tracking pixel, not a pixel that helps generate an image on your screen.
Tracking pixels do provide the ability to see when something has been viewed.
It is obviously a scam, but his reference to a special pixel is legit at least

I would LOVE to get one of these emails. My response "I don't give a frick if you release "the video". You should also know this attempt at extorting money, videoing without consent, etc has been sent to the local PD, FBI, CIA, etc. They are the least of your worry for I will also bring civil action if you do release the tape for 15,000 BTC."

I received a very similar e-mail on my work e-mail last week. But the password that he listed was an actual password that I used several years ago. That part was kind of scary. They also wanted $3000 paid in Bitcoin. I ignored the e-mail and deleted it.

who enters their email address on a sex site?
Posted on 7/27/18 at 11:06 am to CAD703X
Just reply that you know he's lying because you always use your phone to jerk off.
Posted on 7/27/18 at 11:07 am to CAD703X
I often wonder who is stupid enough to fall for these tricks.

That email is still good enough to scare the shite out of most of the non tech people in my family. All of the males upon getting something like that would be contacting me.
Obv it is a scam and since you are tech inclined you know that, However this stuff words on some level with our populace and that is sad.

These are usually generated from a cache of stolen passwords on accounts that already have your email (LinkedIn, airlines, etc...). The emails and passwords are sold in bulk to less scrupulous individuals.
