A source with direct knowledge of what's going on at the school said red flags went up when a child who couldn't do simple addition scored a "mastery" on the test. "Somehow when the scores came back he had 'mastery,' and his teacher had said he couldn't even add three-digit numbers," the source said.

Does a school get more funding if the scores are high?
If so, I bet it happens all over this great state

That is kinda odd, I mean 3rd and 4th graders are the only ones who take a paper-based test that can be altered. Everyone else takes a computer-based test that goes directly to the state.

Instead of it just being numbers, they need to teach these kids...

Hey if you have 345 Pokemon + 215 Pokemon..what's the solution?

I think if the school scores below a certain mark, the state takes over the school (I maybe mistaken).

Plus, I belive the student must pass this test to move on to 5th grade.

"This is the results of us failing to fund schools to teach our kids. I'm proposing a 35 mil property tax to fund our schools"

Baker schools are some of the worst in the state. Crazy how they can be right next door the #1 district in the state.

Has to happen multiple years in a row, plus that takes into account attendance, discipline, grades.

Teachers can lose pay if the dolts don't perform.

Blaming teachers for the genetics of the parents of the students is insane.

There was an enormous scandal a few years back in Atlanta with teachers going as far as changing students’ answer sheets to vastly inflate test scores. It was systemic.

Those ATL teachers and administrators were sentenced to federal prison. No joke.

The lightest sentence was 20 years with six to serve.
