I’ve been trying not to say this for weeks but you know who could do a job with this team?
Hint: he’s special

I mean, you'd also be doing it with the full knowledge you'd end up worse than you started when it all shakes out.
I don't know that we have a choice but to keep Silva. He needs to get less stubborn quickly, but nobody will do much with some of the junk we have on this team.

I truly believe we have the talent to compete.
It’s simply tactics/formation that doesn’t get the results.
We’ve Got several international starters on the roster.

There's still holes in the roster, mostly a natural CF that can actually finish. Hopefully this summer we can clear out some of that dead weight and so that we can actually bring in some guys that can help us.

I don't disagree, and we often do (compete). But we also have a ton of quality personnel that totally disappear. And that same situation has been the case to varying degrees under 4 managers.

No Gana in the lineup today

Davies is playing inspired.

Fun fact:
Everton have more red cards than any other team in EPL history (92).

I don't see how we could fire Silva right now. Bringing on what would be a 4th new manager (5th if you count Unsworth) in 18 months would be a disaster.
I didn't want to fire him, yet. I agree with because of the reasons you listed.
quote:
We at the very least need to clear out the dead weight on the roster that previous managers are responsible for. The fact that we weren't able to bring in any new players this transfer window isn't Silva's fault, its Koeman/Walsh's for spending recklessly on player's that no one wants to buy from us.
Agreed

But obviously Sivla's problems aren't just personnel related. There's no excuse for this team to be as bad as they are are defending set pieces. Silva needs to get his head out of his arse and change something.
That's why i said I'm losing faith in him. He has a lot of issues to fix that are in his hands. Things like set piece defending, tactics, ans player selection.

I really, really want to see a
3-2-3-2 lineup with DCL paired with Tosun up top, Ricarlison on the left, Glyfi in the center as a false 10, Theo/Benard on the right
Davies and Gomez in the middle, with one of them in support when attacking, and a combo of Baines, Kenny, Zuma, Digne, Coleman.
Lookman on as a super, and McCarthy wherever.
Maybe too much FIFA in my hopes...

Or a 4-1-3-2 with that mix of players (Gomez as the lone DM).
I feel we need two up top.
And man to man on set pieces for fricks sake.

Baines pulled in the 37th due to poor play.

Set piece defending is such a joke

It’s just not a funny one.
And it’s truly inexplicable.

My head says manager is just one of many problems
But getting crushed by average teams is pretty hard to consistently defend

Give me tSpecial one or give me death
Park tf out of the bus, defend, counter with our wingers. Top 6 easily.

Honestly, I’m not even excited about this match.
I’ll watch it, but I’m apathetic to say the least.
