As usual, LSU is underseeded. Somehow LSU is a 3 seed in this. Voting will be done on the @MarchMadness Twitter account.

Jesus, can you imagine those Duke, UCLA and UNC teams?
Where can I see the rosters?

What amazing players does Texas have besides Durant?
Lamarcus Aldridge 2nd best in their history? T.J. Ford is there too.

But would they beat an all-time LSU starting 5?

You realize our all time starting 5 would be something like:
C: Shaq (2x all american; #1 overall NBA pick; 15x NBA all-star)
PF: Bob Pettit (3x all american; #2 overall NBA pick; 11x NBA all-star)
SF: Rudy Macklin (2x all american) or Ben Simmons (1x all american, #1 overall NBA pick; Rookie of the Year)
SG: Pistol Pete (3x all american, #3 overall NBA pick, 5x NBA all-star)
PG: Chris Jackson (2x all american, #3 overall NBA pick, 9-year NBA career)

This starting 5 is right there in the mix with UCLA & UNC. Duke doesn't come close to LSU.
Shaquille Oneal
Bob Pettit
Any All-SEC player in LSU basketball history
Chris Jackson
Pete Maravich

NBA careers and accomplishments mean nothing to this debate.
We’re talking college level talent if they played each other.
To discredit Duke and say it wasn’t close because you put some All-American and All SEC next to names, doesn’t prove anything either when you start naming Duke players. And these guys have Chamipionships next to their names as well.
They were system players, they were incredible college players who could dominate at that level.
I mean you could choose from 20 different players to be on their all time team.
Just off the top of my head, pick 5. And who’s coaching their team? Oh that’s right.
Coach K
Christian Latener
Grant Hill
Elton Brand
Bobby Hurley
Jason Williams
Johnny Dawkins
JJ Redick
Shane Battier
Danny Ferry
And UNC off the top of my top head :
Dean Smith
Kenny Smith
Michael Jordan
Stackhouse
Vince Carter
Phil Ford
Antawan Jamison
Hansbrough
Sam Perkins
ETA: might as well add UCLA
John Wooden
Adul-Jabbar
Bill Walton
Ed O’Bannon
Reggie Miller
MacLean
Russel Westbrook
Kevin Love
Jamaal Wilkes

Shaq- college national player of the year
Pistol- all time college scoring leader
Chris Jackson- 2x all american, national freshman of the year, ncaa freshman scoring record
Bob Petit- 2x all american, made him #2 pick in draft
Ben Simmons- all american and first pick in draft
That starting 5 will go up against anyone based purely on college results.

You cant be serious, it's the ultimate can you take it to the next level equalizer.
Serious question:
Do you think a 2x college all american, 3x all conference, national player of the year, national title winner who was drafted 16th overall and spent 5 years before flaming out in the NBA is actually a better player than someone who say was a 1x all conference player with no other notable college accomplishments but ending up making 10+ NBA all star teams?
The question here is starting 5 vs. starting 5. And we're talking things like Shaq against Christian Laettner. Who would you take in that matchup? This should be easy.

Really, look at those players I just posted.
Tell me they’re beating those 3 teams and coaches.
That’s ridiculous.
I can’t be biased here. I would love to say LSU would roll thru that bracket, but the truth is no.

What are you talking about? Those LSU players listed were the most dominant players in college ball at the time they played.

Again all those Duke players were all Americans and Players of the years in something too and they won championships at the college level. They were system players.
The question is about who would win in college at the level they were in college.

You are using a false premise that going 15-20 deep makes a difference here
It doesnt

You seem completely misconstrued about what the idea here is.
It's a starting 5 vs. starting 5.
Shaq vs. Laettner a direct matchup...you dont think Shaq EASILY wins this here despite Laettner's "college success" advantage...this isn't a "who won titles in college team accomplishment" comparison

Well, dozens of sports writers and historians disagree with you. These lists have been done several times, and LSU is in the top 3 in all of them. UCLA is consistently number one and LSU is number 2 or 3.

We saw shaq go against Laettner in college
It wasnt as dominating as later in their careers

I wonder if other fan bases have fans that try to marginalize "their team's" accomplishments as much as LSU fans do? This guy isn't alone, but any topic, any sport regarding LSU someone has to roar in like Superman and demand everyone realize LSU is merely a polyester pull on the golf slacks of sports.

Part of that had to do with Laettner being on a much better team.
