I like how you put protecting and serving in quotes. Even a cops' spouse realizes thats a sham.

For exactly this reason. You people bitch and moan about everything and anything a cop does, yet when your meth deal goes wrong and someone blows a hole in your arse you expect them to “protect and serve”. Despite all of the repeated attempts to villanize an entire group of people based on your diluted theory that the few shite bags represent the whole, my husband gets up everyday and never complains as he continues to work for a public that wouldn’t piss on him to put out a fire.

Better yourself? That’s nice. He loves what he does. I could not be prouder of who he is and what he stands for. I feel sorry for you. You must be a miserable person to have such a shitty outlook.

quote:

I would wonder if you're seriously bitching about not being allowed to use an employers' resources for non-job related purposes for free. But then I remember your husband is a cop, so that disqualifies you from being rational or logical.

If you and your husband are unhappy with his choice, that's yall's own damn fault.

I never said either person was unhappy with that choice. What makes me unhappy is miserable, self loathing little shits who hide behind a computer playing keyboard nazi and spewing their venomous point of view on issues they can’t relate to or don’t know anything about. Im unhappy becuase one day you or someone you love will need a cop and they will be there, regardless of the fact you hate them and don’t even know them.

Yeah, just drop it. I've had people come up to me and bitch about fire departments before, it's usually white males between 18-25 who have just moved out of their momma's nest and know everything. Not always, but 99% of the time. When you simply and politely explain everything, they resort to well if you hate your job you shouldn't do it, even though, I never even come close to saying or hinting towards hating my job.

You people bitch and moan about everything and anything a cop does

Has become much more popular since social media, people see others do it so much, over the years more and more jump on the bandwagon. Some of the comments about police and fire are so far off it's fun to read just to get a laugh.

my husband gets up everyday and never complains as he continues to work for a public

99% of us don't, same with teachers, but on social media you'd think all public servants get on their soap box and bitch all day long about our jobs. Unfortunately, for people on here at least, in reality it's extremely seldom, I don't know a single fireman, teacher, or cop, who bitches about their job. Only time I've seen it was a teacher once bitched about some parents to me, but that was years ago.

It shouldn't make you unhappy, I'm pretty sure your husband doesn't care one bit, neither should you.

ETA: The truth is teachers, police, fire, emergency room nurses, etc, are easy targets. Everyday on social media they get bashed locally or nationally, especially locally among emergency room nurses and teachers. People know public servants aren't usually gonna come on and defend themselves on something like FB, it's like taking candy from a baby. They can over dramatize a story, completely make it up, etc and nobody will ever hear the other side of the argument. So now, it's just become a common thing to bash them, and yell MY TAX DOLLARS, or my mom got robbed by cops, or ER doctor killed my dad, or fireman just sit around and workout, even though most of these people are barely 20 years old that raise hell about public servants and just don't have a clue. But they can get on here and say they know such and such, who does such and such, and all they do is such and such, blah blah blah. Just enjoy the thread and eat popcorn while reading it.

Or to not abuse their power unnecessarily when dealing with civilians, then hide behind the guise "fearing for their safety". same thing really.

i would point out how hilarious the above statement is given that in the previous sentence you implied anyone that points out when cops do shitty things is a meth dealer. but again, as a cop spouse you cant be expected to be rational or logical.

my husband gets up everyday and never complains

apparently he just sends you to do it for him.

quote:

Better yourself? That’s nice. He loves what he does. I could not be prouder of who he is and what he stands for.

and yet here you are bitching about him making the same as a teenager flipping a burger, having to work on his "day off", and having to pay to use his employer's property on his own personal time.

i know, very complicated concept that you cant be expected to grasp. its not your fault.

your multiple posts in this thread prove otherwise.

quote:

if i said pot meet kettle, would you understand what that means?

quote:

Im unhappy becuase one day you or someone you love will need a cop and they will be there, regardless of the fact you hate them and don’t even know them.

dealing with rude, hateful, and/or ungrateful people is a know and relatively common part of the job description that your husband either knew or should have known when he decided to be a cop. no different then if he decided to be a telemarketer or work for the irs.

so yes, you are in fact unhappy with his decision. maybe you should try being honest with yourself.

and for the safety of the people i care about and myself, hopefully that day never comes. and if it does, i really hope its not one of the wannabe navy seals with an itchy trigger finger and an urge to suddenly develop a "fear for his safety"
