After last night, and today, every team knows we don't have a closer.
The price for everyone, as far as the Astros are concerned, became exponentially higher. It's the penalty for not rectifying the situation in the offseason.
Giles could not be trusted in the post season last year, it's not like this a lightning bolt from the blue.

Exponentially is a bit extreme I think. I expect them to make a deal for a solid reliever and keep Tucker and Whitley while doing it

I don’t know if I really fault them for this. He’s got the tools to be a nasty pitcher. Hell Lidge turned out okay in Philly. You hope he can get his head right the next season.
But I don’t think it was any secret Houston was shopping for closer irregardless of the events of yesterday.
