Lets talk gutter guards..

Ok, I've tried the plastic mesh looking ones, with marginal success and I've also tried the foam inserts, which totally get clogged after time. Is there really one that works long term ?

Have installed recently myself. The metal ones can be a PITA to get in there, but seem to stay put better. I'm not impressed with the flimsy plastic ones. Walking on my roof with the leaf blower, blowing out the gutters a couple times a year, seems to be my best success.

Metal mesh works for me. Installed them three years ago and haven't had to clean gutters since.

Never used this myself but hear Gary Sulivan talk about it on the radio all the time.
Also ran across Gutter Helmet online. I don't think anything works perfectly.
