All Army basic training is going to be longer and tougher. There is no considering, it's happening next month.

Came here to post this. It’s their own little inside language designed to annoy civilians.

The Army has never provided enough time and resourcing for initial training, whether officer or enlisted. The whole approach to training and manpower management is as fricked up as a football bat. The Navy is better with its approach to training but just as bad with its approach to manpower.

Not really. Much easier to say OSUT than one station unit training. It's not like you have to learn all the acronyms at once. You pick them up as you go along.

Is the white guy on the bottom row, second to the left, named Harris?

He looks just like a guy that was stationed with me at Fort Campbell from 2000-2001.

The Army’s approach to manpower and training is to check the box. Whether or not anything was improved in the process of checking that box is irrelevant.

No idea brother. That is 1981. What rank was Harris when you knew him? Because he would be a 1SG or MSG by then (unless he got busted).

That's a very good point.

BUT, have you considered Mattis's input? He may imprint his vision on it all and make certain that the tough training stays tough or gets tougher in order to keep standards high?

Ok yeah your pic looked similar to mine in 1999. Uniforms are almost identical. I can see the Georgia Pines in the background, too. Don't miss those

If that were ever true, I don't think it's true now.
