Jim Henderson was top notch play-by-play. I feel a bit sorry for whoever takes his place.

You really think coaches scout the play by play radio broadcast of upcoming teams?!?!?
Yes, that's the secret of championship teams: let's forgo the expertise and coaching insight of our staff of highly paid professional coaches, scouting network, video technology and internal analysts, and instead devote hours to listening to each opponent's local version of Bobby Hebert/Deuce/Dandy Don to get some outdated anecdote from years ago, in order to prepare for this week's opponent in the ~72 hours from Sunday to Tuesday when players return for the new game plan.
Do you work for the Cleveland Browns? Are you cruising Saints Talk for intel on this season's game? That must be the edge that separates good teams from great teams!
Yes, I do think you're crazy for believing radio matters to professional teams' preparation.

Can’t wait for the melt when our resident marine is chosen. It would be fitting if they announced it on July 4

Obviously he loves the Saints and is very knowledgeable of football.
So am I but I couldn't do play by play. I tried to do my son's high school game about a decade ago for an AM station and holy shite. It's incredibly difficult. I couldn't imagine trying to do it at an elite level. Especially with no experience at all. Put him on there as the color guy but not play by play.

Holy frick if it's "Cristian" I'll order a double scotch and a loaded revolver.

It’s rare that former players/athletes get play by play gigs. They usually handle color. I haven’t heard Zach, but I assume he is good.

Can’t be any worse then Deuce

I’d love to see Deke come back. He would be an ideal fit for this role.

He also graduated with a communications degree.
I've heard him on the radio, he's solid.

You’ve heard him on the radio in interview situations. Play by play is a whole other animal.

I heard they gave it to Jordy Hultberg
