Why didn’t either immigration bill pass in the House today?

Obviously it would’ve died in the Senate but it would’ve put the Democrats on the record.

What was the legitimate reason for not allowing it to pass in the House?

Because they saw what happened to Crowley, and understand if they go soft, they go home. This fall

The one today failed because it gave up to much . The one last week was much better but some of the republicans in liberal states were scared to vote for it . They need to work together to get a bill to the senate. They should push a bill to senate with everything Trump ran on and give DACA recipients a path to citizenship but only after 10-15 years of working and supporting their self . It would really help in the midterms for republicans to be able to say they tried to pass a bill with giving DACA recipients citizenship if they would work for it and have no democrats vote for the bill . They need to show independent voters that democrats only care about voters and don’t mind spending our tax dollars for them .
