BARDSTOWN, Ky. —
A building collapse at the Barton 1792 distillery in Bardstown sent thousands of bourbon barrels crashing to the ground.
Bardstown fire officials said the collapse happened at Barton 1792 after 11 a.m. Friday.

You are correct. Mythbusters showed how difficult it was to bust a barrel open.

But I can't imagine the hell it's going to be getting these picked up and put back in a rickhouse...of course I could also see them just leaving it. "Pile aged" The opportune once in a lifetime rotation of the barrels allowed for a unique and unprecedented interaction with the Kentucky environment.

I read that the other half that is still up is leaning pretty good. They think it will fall due to heavy thunderstorms and wind expected tonight.
