Question about Fortnite/skins, etc.

OK my young son started playing Fortnite recently, and I've already dropped like $200 on different skins and whatnot. He's telling me that in a couple weeks when Version 5 is released, that all of the stuff I've bought will be erased and he'll have to buy all new stuff. Is this accurate?

that is not accurate. You will get to keep everything you have. However you will have to repurchase the battle pass if you want($5 or $10-cant remember). doing that will let you complete the challenges to unlock the season 5 skins. but you keep everything you already have. and you are not forced to get the battle pass

100% cosmetic. Zero impact on gameplay. Most of the skins and items can be obtained through gameplay as long as you have the battle pass.

Another thing: our next-door neighbor came over and said there was a glitch and he got 5000 V-bucks for free. I told him I didn't believe him, and was thinking that perhaps he accidentally charged his parents' cc twice. What do you guys think?
