Thanks in advance for the help.
I’m getting ready for a move from NOLA to Alaska and have a standard shoulder mount of a black buck I need to get up there. Does anyone have ideas on best option?
Thanks again.

I’m sure it’ll work out fine, but the thought of shipping a mount gives me the shits
Good luck

Build a crate to house it in, wrap the whole thing in cellophane, UPS it. Expensive, but the only way unless you drive it up there yourself

I had a whitetail mount shipped from Texas- the taxidermist made a box out of 2x2s, and had the mount screwed to one of the walls- the other walls were made out of thinner Luan plywood. Worked well, I saved the crate in case I ever move and for a model for my other mounts.

Crate it and secure the mount to the crate as tight as possible. Make sure that it has no "play" in it. That crate will be flipped over and over during transport. Any extra packing only helps. I would even wrap the entire mount in bubble wrap after it's secure.
