Fear is the mindkiller. Don't stop living life. Don't give it power. Our immune system are driven down if we fear. Take up the drinking creedo of my circle "Survive!", Be a strong motherfricker for your wife, make love to her like it's the second time everyday, and lean on your friends.

Be what your cancer is scared of, life with a purpose and you'll overcome.

Thank you. I'm a strong person usually. I'm still in the shock stage. I'll buck up and fight I know I will.

i had colo-rectal cancer 13 years ago....the cancer was in the lymph nodes, and the situation was bad....i was preparing to die, and yes, i know how scared ya'll are right now...now, only someone who is a cancer survivor can understand when i say that having cancer is the greatest blessing that i have ever had....i mean, i wouldn't want to give it to somebody as present or have it every year like a birthday, but when they say cancer, after the shock wears off, you start getting your shite together and your priorities straight....

i have an elderly cousin that survived an "unsurvivable"cancer about 35 years ago....that was long before they had treatments like they have now....she went through literal hell.....she did not take her final treatment because she was afraid that it would kill her right then and there and she would not get to spend any more time with her family before she died....she helped me through mine....then, they find out that i had prostate cancer, BUT it was found early and likely caused by the radiation that i had 6 years earlier....

here is what kathy had me do and/or what other people did....you get or have your wife get every local church whether you know them or not, to pray for you....you get down on your knees and you ask God Almighty to help you...how you do it does not matter, just do it!...you come to terms with the reality of the situation, in that you might die, and then use these words from Luke 22:42 ..."NOT MY WILL BUT THINE O'LORD".....and you mean it....there is nothing that you can do ben, its out of your hands....don't try to talk to The Father on your terms, be humble....i got tears in my eyes, man, just remembering all of that we went through...there will come a time when your fear turns into resolve, and then acceptance...a healthy diet, and attitude are important...i have no idea how they might handle your case, but i am not going to lie to you...chemo, of any kind, is hell....it is not as bad as it was when i took it because of how they administer them, but no matter, you need to be as healthy as possible....hopefully, it is a tumor like my mother had....good luck, man

Thank you so much. I went ahead and bookmarked your post for when I get weak or feel sorry for myself. I've always been strongwilled. This will be the ultimate test. I'm in a lot of pain right now I'm worried about how I'm going to work through all of this. I have disability with my job so if I have to take a few months off I can without financial ruin.

ben, its not "I" anymore....look, the least word in the english language is "I"....What i am telling you is 100% truth....you need help from the Almighty, the real one...
no deals, no bargaining, just a plea for help....miracles happen, just like my garden/fishing buddy....diagnosed with lung cancer....biopsies showed in lymph nodes,also....he went back for the pre-op prep, only to have his doctor tell him that he didn't need surgery....the scan showed the lungs to be clean....PET SCAN showed nodes clean...true story....right now, like another poster said, just keep up as normal of a life as you can....get your prayer warriors together and lets get it on

Disgusting, just like the people here reveling in Bourdain’s suicide.

Meh. People who commit suicide deserve ridicule.

You're laying it down for me like no other has or possibly can. Again thank you I'm humbled by people's reactions and prayers. We got this.
