I have a dilemma with the Witcher games

I can't decide between playing The Witcher 2 of which I have never played or playing new game + of the Witcher 3 as I have beaten the game and both amazing DLC's.

Does the Witcher 2 age well? I might just watch an in-depth recap video.

yep. its actually an amazing game in it's own right. once u get through the beginning of the game the story picks up at a blistering pace. i love how much more effective the alchemy aspect is as well, its fine in the witcher 3 but its pretty much a requirement in the witcher 2 for many fights

i liked 2 more than 3. much prefer the hub w/ surrounding areas over the open world

Define "aged well." Mechanically, Witcher 2 has always been a bit of a mess. It was CD Projekt Red's first attempt at a more action oriented style of gameplay for the Witcher franchise, and it's incredibly janky as a result.

It still is a very pretty game though. Visually it holds up to modern games.
