I'm wrong. None plead guilty during their initial trial.
And if anyone is trying compare an Alford Plea to this child molester case, they're intentionally being obtuse.

Oh, look, we have an attorney on our hands that knows about these cases. I’m sure she represented both above clients and can tell us all about why they are innocent. Enough is enough-Luke pleaded guilty to molesting his own niece for god sake. No innocent person does that-period.

He plead guilty to serial molestation that started with his cousin when she was a 4 year old and continued for 2 years.
But Ash knows he is innocent because he plead guilty. And because he watched Paradise Lost.

I'm very familiar with the case. An Alford Plea allows you to maintain your innocence while admitting the court has enough evidence to convict you. The reality is the Alford Plea simply protected the state of Arkansas from the lawsuits of wrongful conviction. Alford Plea =/= Guilty plea. -- not even close.
As am I.
As far as the courts are concerned, the WM3 are just as guilty of their crime as this guy is of his.

Yes they do. Far more often than you would ever imagine.
Regardless if he is guilty or not does not matter at this point. He served his sentence handed to him by the judge overseeing the case. It is not for us as the public to punish anyone convicted of any crime any further. That is WHY we have a judicial system.
If you do not like that system, feel free to move to a country that is authoritarian.

And you know all about this case I’m sure.
And actually, I know Damien Echols personally. I actually knew him prior to any of that stuff happening. I still speak to him every now and then.

I’m not moving anywhere. But I am going to feel free to judge him as a f-ing pervert, since that is already what he said he was. I’m just going to call a spade a spade.

Would you let your daughter or neice go have ice cream with him by themselves?

Good reporting Lee Zuric

For those who believe Luke is innocent...
Have you or anybody you know ever been accused to child molestation? It is extremely rare for this allegation to be levied against an innocent person. Luke finger banged his niece...and probably more. The court let him off too easy. I hope karma visits him in the near future.

I’m wondering if you even read that. What a bunch of BS. He is definitley on the edge of that scale. If you think a 14-16 that fingers a 4-6 year old goes on to live a totally normal life and doesn’t have impulses that he desperately wants to keep hidden then you are delusional. I’m not buying that. It’s pretty funny how ardently you defend an a guy that DID this with statistics. HE FINGERED A CHILD WHEN HE WAS A TEENAGER. Can u think back when you were a teenager? Were you so child like at that age that you would stick ur fingers into the privates of a 4 year old child? It’s absurd.

Yes they do. Far more often than you would ever imagine.
If my son was accused of this and he told me that he was innocent, I would bankrupt myself with legal fees for the best attorneys, and work as much overtime as I could. If I had to sell stuff, so be it. We'd fight, fight, fight some more, appeal if necessary. This isn't a DWI or shoplifting charge that you can plead to and have it "hidden", and 20 years later rack up to immaturity; this is a life-destroying charge. Heimlich was a teen during the plea, and now that it's out his entire rest of his life will be hell.
The fact that he did plead, and that his parents went along with it and allowed him to do so, indicate he was guilty of something bad. At that point, using my own son in a painful-to-imagine scenario, then yes, you beat the shite out of him, then take the plea with the "sealed" provision.
And you move away, try to use your own connections to get him a quiet job somewhere out of the public eye, and make damn sure he meets every condition of the agreement. If he goes to college, fine... but nope to the baseball stuff. Sorry, but those parts of his life are off-limits now, too risky (someone will find out). You do nothing to draw attention to yourself, keep your head down, and try to make the best reconstructed life you can.

How old was Heimlich when he pled guilty?
I ask this because as a minor, wouldn't the parents be responsible for the plea deal.how he pled? Maybe the parents, on advice of the attorney took the deal to avoid the possibility of a long term jail sentence?
