Wiltfong just CB Stingley to LSU

This while he's at a visit at Florida. Looks like we're goin to get the #1 corner in the country.

He supposed to shut his recruitment down this summer. Hometown kid, huge position of need, and absolute stud are just what the doctor ordered. He’s as much of a lock as one can be as long as Corey Raymond is here.

PEople are upset about losing Surtain and I get it but Surtain is NOT Patrick Peterson. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as a safety. His coverage skills as a corner have always been based on potential imo. Don’t see it. You could see the skills on tape with Peterson, you can see the skills of Stingley Jr on tape and at camps. You can SEE how well he can stick with a receiver. Stingley Jr is the better corner.

I actually think the 2 cb picks before Wiltfongs are more significant. Stampini and Alderman cover UF for 247, Stingley is at UF on an OV.
I wonder if Stingley wishes he was at LSU right now, Deion Sanders is at the LSU camp.

I honestly never saw the “future tiger” thing with Surtain. Aside from the supposed great relationship between him and Raymond, he never really seemed interested or happy when he was on campus or when he was asked about LSU by pundits. It wasn’t that big of a surprise when he committed to Bama to me. Not saying that it didn’t blow, but I’d be wayyyyy more caught off guard by Stingley leaving than I was with him, Surtain always had that arrogant Bama douche look on his face honestly

I agree completely. Surtain was a great talent, but Stingley is on another level. Kid has future top 10 pick written all over him.

So you're saying Surtain is more Tolliver and less Peterson.

Stingley is a prototypical corner and very much in the same mold as Peterson. Legit 6’1 guy with 4.3 laser timed speed and a 40 inch vert. Might sound crazy but his floor is a 2-3rd round pick, ceiling is number one overall. He could be that good

My post was not meant to downgrade Surtain. He’s a great prospect and absolutely better than KT.
I wanted to point to out just how special Stingley is.

Don’t bash the guy cuz we didn’t get him. Surtain huge loss, and nothing to do with Stingley.

That was one of Surtain's knocks, does not have elite break away speed like Patrick Peterson.
This was said since LSU began recruiting him. Surtain nearly ran a 4.6 40 (4.57 Laser) at 6'1 218lbs to be exact.
By comparison Devin White at 6'1 255lbs ran a 4.49 Laser at The Opening.
That said I think the kid will do well at Alabama.

I really wanted lsu to get the other guy over surtain. Ah i never saw all that much in surtain, the other corner that liked the lsu tigers alot and lsu pretty much showed him the door to nab surtain and the other recruit went to clemson instead :( and missed out on both. Hope orgeron learns from that one and does not.make that mistake again

I think he starts for them day 1 even becomes their #1 corner by the time they come to Death Valley. I think we're goin to go at him quite a bit that game. That can go either 2 ways.
