Need some insight. Have a square foot garden with about a dozen plants. One plant in the middle overnight withered up. It's a black beauty eggplant with flowers and one budding fruit. Around it I have tomato, peppers, other eggplant. All other plants look great and are producing. This one out of the blue overnight withered. Thoughts?

Don't know, I've got the same problemo. Got one tomato plant out of 6 that decided to whither away overnight. The rest are fine. Curious to see what other responses this thread can shine a light on.

How big is the plant? Did you check around the stem near ground level to see if anything has been gnawing on the stem and hurt it enough to kill it?

I've had problems in the past with cut-worms and other pests killing plants and depending on where you live, it could be rabbits or other animals getting to them.

It’s a borer. Check the stem near the ground level. Is it mushy? I find they attack swish, zucchini and eggplants more that tomatoes and peppers.
