When will someone just buy a carnival cruise ship and redo it as a yacht?

I believe that will eventually happen

Is that a big door towards the front for getting all the big toys in and out, and is that a diving platform just above it, further to the front?

Not a door at the front. That’s where the anchor sits. Also not a dive platform, just a platform used for mooring.

Might happen, but I don’t think these guys like the bulky look of a cruise ship, plus they all want something bespoke and revolutionary design-wise. There are awards given out each year for yacht design. That said, someone has taken a former Navy destroyer and turned it into a yacht. Google the yacht “Yas”.

ETA: here’s another cool conversion. M/Y Legend is a former Soviet ice-breaker turned luxury explorer yacht. A little over 200ft long, awesome looking ship.

It’d take at least ten years for the Chalmation smell to finally dissipate from the interior spaces.

No, bruh. If you buy a 15 passenger van and deck out the interior in the finest this planet has to offer, you're still rolling around in a fricking utility van.
