How is anorexia a disease? fricking eat something.

Does this mean the starving Pygmy's in New Guinea are anorexic? I'm pretty sure they don't have much of a choice.

It’s a disorder that can qualify you for disability benefits. It can be debilitating.

I’m pretty sure that if you have cancer or are stuck in a drought ridden country and are crazy skinny it’s still called anorexia. How you get that skinny isn’t the point. Chronically underweight is what the term means.
An eating disorder can result in a symptom defined as anorexic, and anorexia can be a symptom/result of self starvation. Most anorexics don’t deliberately starve themselves, only people with eating disorders do.
I’ve been out of the mental health field for a while now, but not long ago that is how they would explain it within the field.
