Then make them sign something that let's Six Flags off the hook. A grown man that's lost both legs in a war zone should have the ability to ride a ride at an amusement park if he wants to.

It doesn't matter at all. It adds nothing to the story. It's just there to be inflammatory. My cousin is missing both legs from a car accident. Should he be treated differently than a vet with no legs? Hell, I feel worse for my cousin. The vet signed up for a job knowing what might happen.

Not if said amusement park doesn't want to get sued from an injury.
Like I said, maybe the design of the ride and restraints require real legs to keep you in the ride - and that if both prosethetics came loose and broke off during the ride, the guy would go flying out of his seat.

Six Flags reserves the right to set their own policy, no?

After that business with the waterslide at the Kansas City Schlitterbahn, I'd be taking ZERO chances if I'm an amusement park.
TYFYS, my brother, but I can't let you on this thing.

Yes and they enforced it

So I don't really see the problem. It's unfortunate for that man, I guess.

And everyone else on the ride that's at risk of being brained by a flying prosthetic?

Drama much

That's not dramatic at all. Sure, maybe this man has contemporary prosthetics and he fastens them well. But maybe he doesn't, and others with prosthetics don't. So their handicaps can become a risk for other patrons, and they would understandably hold Six Flags accountable for allowing the risk.

I'm not the one outraged that amusement parks have the nerve to enforce clearly posted rules.

Waivers don't work if there is negligence.
As previously mentioned above, the water park where there was a design flaw and a 10-year old kid died because he was too light and his raft went sailing and killed him.
Waivers are weak. The man could always argue it's a design flaw and negligence that real legs have to keep you in the seat.

So, you think if they get in the habit of waiving shite for him, that no one else will expect it huh?
Grow up

I used to tell people in the Army who wanted to skirt rules the same thing every time. And that thing is this.
"I don't know the likelihood of this turning out bad but I know the odds that you are fricked if it does...........100%".

I'm sure a guy that got his legs blown off in combat is mentally tough enough to overcome this incident
Call me crazy

Apparently not. He's the one who complained isn't he?
I served 23 years. Look. I'd love to tell you all veterans are good people.
But, I'd be lying. The uniform isn't a character trait and bombs don't selectively hit only good people either.

Hey @SixFlags you really think I’m so physically useless I can’t ride a tilt-a-whirl?
Six Flags may not but their insurance company almost certainly does....
