Looking for a new worm/soft plastics rod. Mostly fish Texas rig, some Carolina rig and jigs, almost always on flouro. Budget is $200. What is the OB's brand/length/action recommendations? Thanks...

length/action recommendations

Tx rig I like a 7’ MH Fast
Carolina rig and punching I like a 7’6” Hvy Fast
Flipping Jigs I use a 7’3” MH Fast
Football Jigs I use a 7’4” Hvy Fast

As far as brand goes, everyone has their favorite and you’ll get a bunch of recommendations. I’ve been favoring Denali rods lately. The Kovert Lite and Lithium series are within your budget and are both great.

They have a good website to pick out the exact model.

McCain Rods. They're the old All Star. If you FB message them they can give you a 50% coupon.

2nd the Cara at that price range. I like 6'8" rods for worms/soft plastics. I've been using a Shimano Expride 6'8" MH Fast. Its a great rod.

I was thinking of getting a set of rods specifically for using in the kayak. This might be a good option. I don’t like carrying all of my more expensive stuff in the yak. Thanks for the info.

I bought 3 of the kayak rods. Join their Facebook page for discounts. Also message them and ask for a 50% discount.
