The thought of having Emery and Davis in our backfield brings some nostalgic Reggie and Lendale feeling. It will be a special tandem in LSU’s backfield.

Strictly looking at LSU players of the past I would say Davis/Emery would be the equivalent of having Jeremy Hill and Guice on roster.

Emery is unlike any back we’ve had at LSU in a long time. Slim dangerously fast and agile. As I’ve said before he reminds me a lot of Joe McKnight

I see a lot of McKnight in Emery’s game as well. I’ve said all along that Davis is very similar to Jeremy Hill. If we have a Hill/McKnight combo in our backfield for 3-4 years, we should all be very pleased.

So, Darius Guice?

Justin Vincent. 03 style.

Their running styles aren’t much alike. Guice is a violent runner who is very shifty. Emery is faster than Guice but not near as strong.

Idk about all of that man. Guice ran the 100 meters in under 11 seconds. He's very fast, especially for his size and power. Guice was a freak of an athlete and an extremely talented player.

People have such bad memories. Ridley was a good back not one of our best but mid level backs for sure.
I actually think Cain looks a lot like Ridley. Both Davis and Emery would be a terrific RB class. Perfect complement to each other and a very smart move on his part if he's changed his mind about State. His ceiling is much much much higher here at LSU.
With Faulk on our staff, once we bring these guys to campus we shouldn't be having any trouble recruiting RBs at all. Idk what's going on with that but I think between coach Rob and Faulk we would have gotten in his Dad's ear eventually convincing him to play in the P&G.
That's going to be a great RB depth chart with CEH, Curry, Davis and Emery. Wow!!! Idk about all you guys but I like the direction we are going as far as talent being taken. QB/LB/WR/DL/OL/RB recruiting is going really well. I even like the TEs we've taken. The secondary class this year is full of talent as well. Guys who can play multiple positions also.
We need to end it with a top OT, DE with Sop, Dean/Harris/Lee (two of these), Emery, Palmer, Parker, maybe Kimbrough and we'll be set. I know we can't get all of these but if we fill it up with these guys, it will be one helleva class. Top 3 class. Then 2020 is looking strong as frick already. If we can gain some momentum with this years play, look out. I don't see failure, I see a program on the rise. GT

I agree. These next couple of recruiting classes could lay the foundation for championships

Not saying Guice is slow by any means. He is a freak, but he also was much stockier than Emery while in HS. That’s why I believe they’re different in their styles. Both are athletic freaks to be honest.

Emery is a football HR hitter. Can take it to the house at any time.

Emery looks like a faster, shiftier Kerryon Johnson to me

Nice comparison. I’ll stick to my guns and say he plays just like McKnight but faster.
Posted on 7/26/18 at 10:29 pm to WM_Tiger
I didn't watch McKnight when he was in HS so I wouldn't really know. I know that he was highly sought after and that O wanted him badly at OM
RIP Joe

I was talking about comparative style. Actually if you look at ranking, Davis is much higher than Hill was and Emery is higher than Guice.

Oh okay I gotcha.

Hill is a fair comparison for Tyrion, but Guice and Emery do not have similar running styles or builds whatsoever.

John Emery definitely has some Alvin Kamara to his game though.
