No Payet

Deschamps said in PC that Payet is out due to his injury.

Otherwise, seems like good choices of players that have actually played well for clubs recently and France in friendlies.

(Martial and Rabiot have had some really bad matches for France NT recently. Think majority of French fans that follow closely are relieved to see players like Nzonzi and Thauvin instead.

Mendy being chosen over Digne may be bit of surprise since he hasn't played for so long.

Payet, to me, is the only real snub. I guess you can justify Martial but he picked a bad year to be out of form. The only reason I can see Payet being snubbed is if that injury from yesterday is worse than it looked.

Deschamps said in his press conference that the injury is the reason Payet wasn't chosen.

Did he mention why Martial and Rabiot didn't get picked? Lacazette?

He only said all three were on "standby" in case of an injury but only specifically addressed Payet, saying he "very likely" would have in the 23 without the injury.

Martial and Rabiot can be seen as snubs, I suppose, but weren't really that surprising since they played pretty poorly in recent call ups.

Hope United don’t ship off Martial. He’ll definitely ball out wherever he goes next as soon as he’s sold.

Martial is a season away from taking off. I’ve heard of a mutual swap for him for willian from Chelsea. Would you accept that?

Sucks that a 3 week knock is gonna keep him out.

Damn, can you imagine having a talent pool so deep you could leave players of their caliber of your squad completely?!?! Meanwhile, Omar Gonzalez just scored another goal for Trinidad & Tobago.

I mean doesn’t the club have an option on him? If so, the only way he’d move is if he forces a move and the board oblige.

I'd prefer we didn't...Martial is 21-22, Willian is 29. I really just want Martial to become who he has the ability to be

Florian Thauvin?

25 goals and 13 assists in 51 appearances. [ LINK]

I'd say he's earned his spot.
