That Friday match up could be epic if Hilliard is on.

Our approach is always to swing early and often so this may actually be a decent matchup for us. Just have to hope we find some holes.

Ole Miss rocked his arse last week. All that tells me is swing early and often

Despite those great numbers, he's lost 3 games this year.

I like Hess on Thursday to step up in a big game.

Mize is tough but beatable. We're not the type of team that should just hack away at him at all costs. We need to work pitch counts if he's not on and run the bases well. When called upon, execute small ball. Hilliard is due for a dominant outing. It would be an enormous step for his future with a road win against Mize at Auburn.

Saturday is a coin flip.

We're just so miserable on the road this year. If we're going to make any semblance of a post season run, it starts with 2 wins at Auburn.

I would prefer a sweep, but 2 of 3 would probably be enough to get LSU into the post season.

In general, I don't see future games as potential losses. I prefer to look at them as potential wins. I remember getting my pre-season magazines in August 1979 and being excited by the potential of playing USC and Alabama that year. Turns out we lost close games to both, but my excitement was the opportunity of watching my team play the best.

I see the same with Mize. LSU baseball has faced many of the best pitchers in the history of college baseball. This is another opportunity to step up and place another brick in the legacy of this year's team and it's players.

There will be plenty of time after the year ends to count losses. I see no reason to count them now.
