'Make Campus Great Again' Speaker: More and More Liberal Students Showing Up to Hear Conservative Views
Washington Examiner
Bless Lauren Cooley.

I have a college speaking tour called “Make Campus Great Again!”
Admittedly, my audience often skews Right and my invitations to campus are usually from conservative and libertarian groups. The crux of my speech is to encourage right-leaning campus activists to play offense instead of defense in the era of Trump.
Recently, I’ve noticed a growing number of left-leaning students at my events — and not to protest as you might assume. Instead, self-avowed Marxists and DACA-supporting students have been showing up to hear what I have to say. These students are starving for diverse ideas.
quote:
You may be shocked to hear, but many of the leftist students I speak with find free speech zones and safe spaces to be an affront on their civil liberties, progressive values, and academic merits.
Of course this doesn’t mean that there isn’t a cohort of immature emotional leftists crying in safe spaces while simultaneously lighting their campuses on fire. These students exist, in large swaths, and hold great power and privilege on campus with absolute support from administrators. Interestingly enough, their antics are failing to make a case for their cause, and are instead pushing away natural allies like the students showing up to my talks.
In an era where provocation seems king and polarization seems unavoidable, I’m meeting students who want more civil discussion, greater exposure to diverse viewpoints, and more out of their higher education, regardless of their political persuasion.

A conservative speaker says she's seen a growing number of left-leaning college students attending her “Make Campus Great Again” events.
In a new op-ed, Lauren Cooley, Red Alert Politics editor for the Washington Examiner, said that leftist students don't often encounter varying viewpoints on campus and they are "starving for diverse ideas."
Cooley joined Bill Hemmer on "America's Newsroom" and explained that the crux of her “Make Campus Great Again” speech is to encourage young conservatives to be active on campus and to promote free speech.
Although conservative students are her target audience, in recent months she's seen more and more liberal students show up to hear what she has to say.
"They're seeking out other ideological viewpoints. And they have to come to me, a 25-year-old with a 'Make Campus Great Again' speaking tour, in order to hear conservative thoughts on campus," Cooley said.
She said there is certainly still a large number of "emotional, safe space-loving, campus snowflakes," but she's meeting many students who want to engage in civil discussion and be exposed to different viewpoints.
"There are students who are bright and smart. And just because they're left-leaning doesn't mean they don't support free speech," Cooley said.
"And those students are being alienated by the extreme leftists on campus and are becoming allies of conservative students on campus, just because they're OK with plural opinions and ideas and exploring new things."

I'm no marketing professional, but that logo for the California College Republicans is terribly designed.
And don't get me wrong, I voted for Trump. And I absolutely deplore the far-left narrative that has taken over college campuses.
But seriously...
#1. It looks like the Alabama Crimson Tide logo and the Japanese flag fricked.
#2. No nuance. Doesn't look like any real thought went into its design.
#3. You have to be self-aware when designing these kind of things. In an era when Republicans and conservatives are getting lambasted as xenophobes, racists, and white nationalists, having your symbol be a white, angry elephant against an ominous red and black backdrop probably isn't the best idea for attracting undecideds to your side.

All you got out of this thread was whining about the design of a campus group's flag. Think about that.

This is a message board, is it not?
Just commenting on what I see.
Yes, I support the group's endeavors. Yes, I'm glad that more students who don't identify as conservative/Republican are showing up to hear what these speakers have to say.
Happy now?
I commented on the logo because marketing and perception play a big part for any organization. In my opinion, that is a poorly designed logo/flag considering what conservative student groups need to accomplish right now, which is getting people to listen to their message.
It looks like they got their inspiration from the ISIS flag...
You know you agree...

I feel bad for this young lady. She was clearly brainwashed by her parents at a young age. I'm praying for her.

This young woman is woke and bringing mental health recovery to misguided college students everywhere. You should be so lucky to get into one of her sessions.

Na I really wanted to come in here and make a comment about her being hot but after seeing that pic I just thought of this

I hope what she's saying is true. My kid goes to college in a year and a half.

That's a fantastic and positive message that will surely resonate with moderates and undecideds who could potentially decide the midterms and 2020 primary.
And what was the big reason that we're all pissed at liberals/progressives right now? Because they want to decimate anyone who doesn't agree with them?
