What about Ground Patti? Are they related? The original in Lafayette near campus is good. The others, not so much.

So Im not entitled to judge mexican food because of that

My homemade roux days are over. It's the same whether you make it yourself or not. Unless you want the pitch black mod bitumen type.

Smoothie King. I remember when they had less than a handful of stores and had their own warehouse. PJ’s coffee was great when it was small as well. Quality of both went down as they expanded over the years

I don't think it was ever designed to be anything but a chain. It was never just a single local joint.

iirc it started as a single.

now the people that did start it were successful in other ventures before it though

I mean because of your unoriginal “Shreveport isn’t Louisiana” take.

Superior is awesome. At least the OG one is.

Bistro Byronz used to be a go-to, and it is godawful now. They always had more than one location, but man it is nothing like its former self.

I think they are all separately owned though and they really don't have anything to do with each other.

The one in Mandeville is good.

Oh sorry that was more of a "joke"

I know, I know I'm not looking to quit my day job!

OG, does that mean On Government?

OSC (on st charles) is bland walking distance to my house so I wish it was better. in fact there are a lot of places around there that could be better. I'm planning to get out to Kenner for Casa Garcia soon. The Chile Relleno is really good out there.

Actually the recipe used to be given out to the customers so that they could be made at home. There was more money in purchasing the products from the health food store where the smoothies were being made.

Another one i have to mention being in walking distance to my house is Robin's Seafood. It's becoming a chain before they got the place running well in NOLA. The owner running around between NOL and Hattiesburg and QC dont cut it.

I wish I didn't have to say that because they're seafood distribution company is down in YyCloskey near where I keep my boat too. I was hoping they would kick some arse but not quite happnin.

Original gangsta.

I’m just saying the original location in Shreveport is great. Never been to any others. I have heard they don’t have the bomb queso at other locations, and they don’t have certain fruity margs because they attract the wrong crowds.

Not necessarily a restaurant but, New Orleans Origianl Daiquiri was awesome until they started to grow. In order to meet the demand and not have the recipes stolen they started to make the product shelf stable in hermetically sealed bags. Once this happened quality ended and it has sucked ever since.

once at the Chimes in the 90's one of my friends actually ordered a strawberry daq and when he got it the bartender had written "p#$%sy" on his napkin.

Of course we were friends with him too but still LOAO
