I really don’t get the Etling hate. He was situationally aware, had ok pocket presence, and put his guts on the line every game. Took some nasty shots and kept going. His only downfall was he could be occasionally inaccurate and didn’t have a strong arm.
Clearly an NFL franchise with the most Superbowls in recent memory and a current dynasty that drafted Tom freakin Brady doesn’t know as much as the crackheads in Houma that post on this board though.

WHY does LSU need castoff QBs from big ten schools? Can't they recruit their OWN QBs or do they need some NEW recruiters? We have heard the hype about the current group of LSU QBs. Guess it is ALL hype.

The recruiting is fine. It's the coaching, and the fact that we didn't get a QB in this last cycle. Now they're panicking.
Have to get 1 or 2 QBs in each cycle. It's a numbers game with QBs because of how difficult they are to project to the next level.

Remember when Tom Brady was just a scrub because he couldn't beat out Drew Bledsoe for the starting job?
Some people have the ability to rise to the occasion. Truth is, 99% of us had never heard of the kid until this week. There's a lot of NFL QB's we had never heard of in college either. Everything I've read about him so far has been pretty positive. Give him is chance. If he's a scrub, he will ride the bench here too. If he's good, he'll be fun to watch this season.

ON THE OTHER HAND, why not come here, this place is a laughing stock for quarterbacks (thanks Miles) as displayed in ESPN's cover of the draft where McShay made a mockery of the LSU quarterback woes.

Miles was a very good football coach up to QB
He was locked into 1967 and was not going to change and only got worse as the years went on
The biggest monkey CEO has on his back is putting a good SEC QB on the field !
