Sure he could have been president. A lot of domestic policy would have been much improved over what we had. Of course, Osama Bin Laden would have killed 30,000 Americans in a dozen different terrorist attacks, and probably would be Ayatollah of Afghanistan now, his most prized possession being the file cabinet filled with letters of marque from President Paul.
Look everyone, another useful idiot that believes in the war on terror.

Saddam Hussein would probably be dictator of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with his own cabinet full of letters of marque, and gas would cost 12.00 a gallon.
You obviously don't understand economics either. Saddam Hussein didn't have the capability to successfully invade and occupy Saudi Arabia, try again.

Crimea and Georgia certainly wouldn’t have been much of a step for Putin. Chances are, Russian aggression toward other border countries would have been greater. What’s to stop them? More letters of marque?
What are you saying, that Russia would get away with annexing further territory if we had a non-interventionist president? How have we intervened with Russia to stop them from annexing Georgia?

You don’t know what I believe, so don’t act like you do. I believe an isolationist foreign policy allows the bad actors free reign to do pretty much as they please. I believe that if you apply the libertarian foreign policy of people like you and Ron Paul during WW2, the only countries left standing are the USSR, Germany, and the US, and we don’t last long afterwards.
As far as the war on terror, yes I think it’s better to have our military kill terrorists where THEY live, rather than letting them foment, and then prey on innocent civilians. Now, how it is being conducted? No. My method would be much more brutal, indiscriminant, and effective, putting far fewer of our troops at risk.

Let’s give the Ron Paul foreign policy treatment to Saudi Arabia. Now what do they look like without the US backing them up? You want to say I don’t understand, but so many of you either can’t or won’t examine the ramifications to the world if the US reduces it’s footprint by 95%.

Well certainly. What is to stop them? Libertarian philosophy would have done nothing to stop Hitler, why would it stop Putin if he decided he wanted Poland or Czechoslovakia?
