Been using Cabela’s pro-line 6# in high-vis yellow the past year. Throwing jigs on ultra lights for crappie, it’s been some of the best I’ve used as far as strength and not getting frayed up from brush.

Spinning reel. 6.5 rod. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Posted this dead tired.

I use 12# braid and add a short length of mono where needed.
The braided line does not get all twisted up on an ultra light like mono.

I use a modified Albright knot when tying either mono or fluoro leader....never had an issue

Species will get you better responses. You can make a case for any kind of line depending on the application. 20lb braid is gonna check the most boxes.

My bad, yeah I use an Albright also braid to leader and a loop at the lure 50% of the time depending on what I’m fishing. Braid on a spinning rig, way to go. Just keep the leader short enough it doesn’t reach the reel

I see no reason to buy anything more expensive than stren. 6# for light reels and 12-14# for inshore.

Throw a spinner with braid and you’ll understand

No thanks. I’ve used braid... it’s a fricking disaster in the wind.

20# braid with as much as a 17 floro leader in stained water then. Clear water or light cover got to 10 or 8

This. I picked up 3 spools of 8lb gliss at academy yesterday on clearance for $.98 each.
I have nanofil on one of my ultra lite rigs and it will cast jigs a country mile. Great stuff you can still tie knots with.

I use 6 or 8lb Crappie Max from Bass Pro. It's under $7 for a 1/4lb spool.
