If Coach Orgeron does everything in his power under NCAA recruiting guidelines and Kids like Sopsher and Stingley decide to sign with Alabama, why is that orgeron's fault?

Everybody keeps talking about "locking down the state of Louisiana". Here's your chance to tell Orgeron how to do that. Reply, geniuses.

Da Coach O wasn't hired to try hard.
Giving maximum effort is assumed...

Because no one gets paid $3M/year to try. This is a results business.

Enough isn't enough.

When the main thing he was brought here to do was recruit and he can't even do that the best, why's he here? Where is his edge over the competition? If it's not recruiting I see no edge.

That's nothing personal to him. He's just not up to the job if his best isn't good enough.

If you're going to win in the SEC you have to have something to fall back on. If you do nothing at a top level, you're just going to be another team.

We might lose out on Sopsher and that would hurt but we need Stingley! We are recruiting some big time Def tackles and I'm telling ya'll nothing new but our Def line is going to wreck havoc on offenses this year. Recruits will notice!

You’re seriously trying too hard but I’ll play. Because its supposed to be the one thing he can do well. He hasn’t done very well at it so far. Mainly in the lack of overall planning but we expected he’s screw that up. So, if the guy says he’s going to lock down the state and then fails, well, then its a fail. Don’t make it so easy to see through you lame attempt to lower the bar before a failure. It makes me worried

Well, I see a lot of people blaming Les Miles for the "lack of talent" on the 2017 and 2018 rosters.

Does Edward not hold that same position?

Did O say he was going to "lock down" the state?

Link????

Was O "brought in" only to recruit?

Link????

He wasn't hired to win games?

He could win 2 natys a year and these pukes would still want him fired or worse!

I also notice that there is not ONE real answer to your question. The geniuses don't know, they can only throw crap.

Mainly because the head guy gets the credit good or bad. Miles got the credit for losing Landon Collins and Cam Robinson. He appropriately got the credit for landing LF.

The best thing for LSU and CEO this year might be UGA and Auburn. If a couple teams beat Bama this year and knock them out of the playoffs then Bama does not continue to look so much the lock to get a Natty ring and players will start looking elsewhere. Bama class already dropped to #7 last year and Kirby is kicking Sabans arse at recruiting GA. Bama does not get the lions share of their players from Alabama. They get a lot from GA, Fla, LA, and Miss... If these other teams keep chipping away at Bama's recruiting base then tdecline is real. This is what put Philip Fulmer out of business at UT when Saban went to LSU, Spurrier and Meyer at UF, and Richt at UGA.

He was hired to bring top talent to LSU. He is known to be a great recruiter and if he can’t get top 5 classes then what good is he?

there is and never has been any such reality as "locking down the state of Louisiana". nor any other state for that matter. I think many Louisiana kids are more loyal to the state than other states but many are cool with going elsewhere and ALWAYS have been. the best LSU can do is get most kids to stay in the boot.
