Please, tell me what is. I've been using AllStar rods for close to 30yrs, still satisfied with their quality. From my very old WR1 rods to my newer purple Team rods, they all work great, and have had no issues...

Seen several shatter on hooksets.

I’ve used them for at least 15 years and only one that’s ever broke was one I accidentally smashed against a piling.

People bashing are the ones racing to academy to try to beat everyone to the sale

The old MWR-1's were the best damn Carolina Rig/Jig rods ever made IMHO.
But I'm a fairly old fricker, so what do I know.

I wish they would bring the All Star Platinums back

I own an AllStar team AS that works great. I also snapped a $189 Castaway Skeleton V2 on a 2lb bass two weeks after I bought it. I did, however, decide to get an even swap for it at Cabelas.

The old topwater special was hard to beat. Still have one.

Have owned several over the years. They were the first “nice” rods I got when I first stared getting serious about fishing. Of course there are better options but they’re great for the price.

I'm about to return one of my 7ft MH AllStar Clasic rods I bought few weeks back.
I've seen rods on the shelf, not in the sale bucket, that were well used. The cork super dark and worn. One had a missing tip and another a missing eye.

I have one I got back in 06 ish called the inshore. Best rod I ever bought.

I don't believe you. "Several" means, to me, at least 4 or 5 and you haven't seen that.
All of my inshore rods (bait casting and spinning) are All Star Classics from Academy. 3 of them are 7 years old. I've never ever broken a rod on a hook set or while landing a fish. I caught over 300 redfish last year alone on them.
My son has several and has never broken one on a fish, either. Several of the guys I fish with also use ASC rods, and have never broken one on a fish.
They are great, well made rods, worth every penny, and there's no good reason to spend high dollars on a fishing rod as long as you can buy these.
Edited to change to "300 redfish" after looking at my logs.
