Monkish - Torrance, CA

...wut?

I live on the complete opposite end of the country and know (and have been to) Monkish. It's a very well known brewery.

Now if you want to talk about breweries in that area that are putting out really good stuff but aren't well known, Smog City is right across the street from Monkish and is really solid.

In Nashville, Tailgate
-Love the fact that they constantly do small batches and have 25+ offerings everyday, but their absolute best is the Hot Chicken IPA. Never had anything like it.

In Georgia, Creature Comforts
-Not sure if they are under the radar anymore. While Terrapin still has my favorite beer, I love the versatility that Creature Comforts has. Favorite is probably the Automatic Pale Ale.

Ill also add Apocalypse Brew Works in Louisville.
-Very small place that I found by accident. I didnt like everything I tasted, but they have some radical ideas, and really hit on a few. The Double Tap, 2x Red IPA will put you on your arse.

Since the thread is still going, I'm going to add some local to me. I'm only listing the under the radar ones, although some may be known to people on this board, these are only distributed locally in the Portland area and aren't crazy trade bait (like De Garde or Great Notion).

Block 15 - they do everything well. Sours, stouts, IPAs, pilsners, and so on. A little off the beaten path, in Corvallis.

Culmination - Small brewery on the NE side of Portland. Killing it right now, but nobody knows about them. Some of you may have tried Obscured By Clouds, a standout even amongst the NEIPAs available today.

Breakside - I'm not sure how well know they are nationwide. I know I've posted enough of their beer that regulars on this board should know them. They brew a ton of different beers (well over 100 different beers every year).

pFriem - They do everything well and have a brewpub in a really cool location in Hood River.

Trap Door - in the Portland suburb of Vancouver, WA. Up and coming and doing some great NEIPAs.
