This is DayZ last gasp of air before it finally dies. No one will care about it again in 3 months.

Now that I have experience in an open world BR, I feel like I would be somewhat competent.

The forests are larger than the entire map of Erangel. They are much more dense, and there is no in game map or mini map.

In that case, if and when I get separated from the group, you must treat me as a hostile.

I treat group members in range as hostile sometimes. Dayz does that to you.

Why would you prefer there to be no mini map? It sounds like dayz is really slow and anti climactic.

It is the exact opposite. But you can not understand until you have really experienced it. It is why the people who keep bitching always return to the game of keep tabs on it because the experience is unlike any other.

Its part of the experience man. Land navigation is a real skill. You can look at the topographical maps online and compare them to the area around you and actually find your way. Or you can read the signs when you get to towns and roads, but they aren't in English.

The rush from that game is just indescribable. Cant put it into words. Looting for hours and days and getting geared and surviving zombies and weather and then randomly running into a fully geared squad at point blank range and you just shite yourself.

Its incredible.

I remember trying that and thinking im in one town, but really in another and then spend the next few hours going in the wrong direction thinking "wait, the topography shouldn't look like this..."

Just seeing another person is a rush.

Hell not knowing if it is your buddy is a rush.
