Really makes me wonder where all this supposed character flaw stuff is coming from.

Did you hear about his Dad?
Posted on 4/24/18 at 11:44 pm to alumni95
I know the guy he moved in. Definition of a good guy.
I knew him for a few years before ever realizing guice lived with him. He never even mentioned he was taking care of a kid who wasnt his own.

Why did he move in with that other family in high school?

Because they had food, Walt.

Mike Maycock just trying to find a negative side of him and noticed Derrius plays a lot of FortNite video games these days (I think he streams himself playing a lot). Basically trying to say he doesn’t have football as a priority and missed a lot of things at the combine.

Class act. He has done really well on TV shows too. Great Tiger, and I'm glad he represents LSU.

I like him. Hope he does well and has an excellent career.

His dad was murdered. What does that have to do with Darius character?

None of our damn business.

I heard an analyst say they were concerned he was immature.
I don’t see it but that’s what they’re claiming. I think Guice is going to be an absolute monster in the league. I’m almost glad he’s fallling in the draft though. I’d love to see him go to a good team. Eagles at 32 makes a ton of sense.

Probably because he's a fun loving type of person who is a lot more loose when in public. With his type of attitude I can see some upper management thinking he might want to party too much when he finally gets paid. Even though he didn't have any problems in college. I think Guice will be fine in the NFL and will have a great career.

From thin air.

On the flip side, that could/should be seen as a positive as it's clear he’s spending more time at home or with friends than running the streets looking or waiting for problems to run into him.

Not just his Dad
"About 24 hours after Gaulden is accused of opening fire on Kentucky Street, another drive-by shooting in the same block where Ricks was killed left the front of two homes riddled with bullets, although no one was injured. Derrick Keith Guice, the 20-year-old brother of LSU star running back Derrius Guice, was arrested the next day.
Guice was charged with principal to attempted second-degree murder on Jan. 4, according to court records. Guice has not been arraigned.
Michael Onyedinma, 17, was also charged in the shooting for principal to attempted second-degree murder, court records show. He pleaded not guilty on March 13."

All smoke created by a team that wants him really bad but they don't pick high enough to grab him! Happens every year. Guice will be at top 20 pick in the first round

Guice is a great dude in my book. Nothing his family has done should be imputed on him. I can't speak to his maturity but staying out of trouble, especially where he is from, shows a lot about his character and drive.
I also wouldn't worry about his partying. I've seen Guice out more than once at Bogies (normal for LSU athletes tbh). I don't think he was drinking any of those times. All I saw was him hanging out with other athletes (saw him chilling with Kramer Robertson last year), hanging out with the staff, and talking to fans since everyone recognized him.
