I'll never love a job. If it was enjoyable they wouldn't have to pay someone to be here.

That's coming from someone with a great job

I dont even want to get a blowjob or play golf for 50 hours a week. Being forced to would make it worse.

I’m not reading 11 pages, but was everything covered? I’m an operator. Have been for about 5 years now.

Did anyone explain why everyone on this board is always condescending when the subject comes up?

For what it’s worth, I’m on my long off. I’ve been off since last Thursday and go back Thursday night. I work 48 hours one week and 36 hours the next week without the OT, which is not required to accept. You can take it when you want to....

I worked about half the OT i was asked to work last year and made about 108 if anyone was curious. I don’t care to gloat or bullshite anyone here. I don’t really care if anyone thinks I’m lying or not. Was just giving OP info

It’s entirely subjective.

I don't know where you get this idea that plant workers don't participate in retirement plans?
Besides our company pension, I don't know any of my coworkers not participating in 401K plans and saving at high levels.

Again, only about 40% of adults ghave any retirement savings, proposing an industry made up of mostly low educated workers has a significantly higher percentage of savers is a laughable theory.

Also, I find it funny that people will come in here and talk about the people they know salaries or savings. Do you people really discuss that kind of stuff with freinds or coworkers? If so that's incredibly tacky and they are lying to you anyway.

I always thought it stemmed from that one dude that went batshit crazy one night boasting about what he made and barely working. Then the OT trolled the frick out of him and he melted and it’s just been a thing since then.

It is worse than an actual dick measuring contest when operators print up their paystubs and 401k's.

There are few secrets when it comes to that.

I’m around. I read more than I post anymore after a while, everything here gets repetitive. She also said the same thing and doesn’t post anymore.

You are saying most plant workers have secondary educations or professional degrees? Interesting. The engineers and management do, but they are outnumbered "big" by lower educated workers "chief"

Well like notiger said, if you aint putting in more than 45 hours you must not be important his 36,000 posts on a website must mean he is very important at his job.....

Bitch please. I've been around quite a while and was a quasi government contractor for a while so there was plenty of time to post.

Sorry I'm a little motivated and work for a great company making well into six figures. During most of the year I keep it under 45 hours a week, but when needed I have no problem putting on my big boy pants and working extra to make sure projects get done.

I also am off every other Friday for the most part and have five weeks vacation so I'm not exactly a slave to the job.

Do you know how any of this works?

Also, yes, lots of them have secondary degrees. Did you not know that?
