You dont understand how mma weight works. Most of these fighters are cutting 20-30 lbs of weight to make weight the day before the fight.
Also, you are thinking of a small amount of people that you know and not taking into account that mma is a global sport and not everyone is a 220lb fatass across the globe.

Fair enough, so it's not legal for a 5'8, 160 guy to fight a 5'10. 175 guy. But it's totally cool for a 6'2, 210 guy to fight a 6'8, 275 guy. Explain that to me please..
