I remember my grandfather said Southeastern tuition was $20 when he enrolled in 1937.
Tuition at SLU was $259 in the Fall of 1979. It went up to $309 in the Spring of '80 and students bitched the entire semester.

When I was in med school was the time the state raised the tution 15% per year.
Think I started at like 13k per semester and then was like ~20k.

9 years of school plus a tax LLM. I went to undergrad basically free -- cost of living is expensive.

LSU Law Tuition in 1989
Thought provoking. Costs have certainly gone way up.

Got out of SULC paying just under $25k (for all three years and a couple hours of summer just to make fall/spring easier). You get what you pay for, and all the hate SULC gets is pretty much warranted, and I would probably be something totally different if I had to do it all over again, but I feel like $25k for a JD was a steal.

Absolutely. And I like what I am doing now and I don't see a career or even practice shift again in my life, but I got two kids to raise/put through school. It may change one day.

$3k per semester is a fricking steal. What was LSU's tuition at the time?

I'm not 100% but SFP went during the same time so he can confirm. I thought it was in the 6k range.

LSU law was something like 18k/year total back in those days
