I use the 1/2" PVC hoops, and used the pre cut 8' lengths. The galvanized clamps will bend if you hit them with the lawn mower though. I just used wood screws into the side of the raised bed.
I had a lot of trouble finding small orders of shade cloth to use as cover. I ended up using the old netting from around the kid's trampoline. I secure it with some small cable ties and keep them loose. That way I can pull the netting over and back without having to put it in and out of the garage. Mine doesn't look professional, but gets the job done. Hope that helps
