This, but if one takes the time, one can pick out some good lumber. Me, I just saw my own lumber.
I keep a couple thousand BF on hand at all times from oak to SYP.

That isn't true. Home Depot buys on the exchange just like everyone. Often times they get preferential treatment from the big suppliers like Weyerheauser, L.P., GP and the like.
